His Best Approach

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

This reading seems to be about a man who is deep in thought and he is probably planning to do something major (Thought). He is facing the Widower and this can mean that his plans are  either directly connected to or linked with a man (who is probably older than him) or he is advised to use masculine wisdom (less emotional, more realistic, more straightforward approach). The Thief card can indicate a number of things depending on context or the question asked. It can indicate that this man's intentions are not really good or he is likely (or advised) to use a more indirect approach (strategy, cunning) to execute his plans.  There may also be an element of rivalry (probably between the two men) coupled with a feeling of frustration or disappointment.

Opportunities

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

Constancy is the central theme of this reading and it suggests that we are being watched or supervised in regard to the situation or that the situation we are in is not likely to change for a while. This could simply be because the time is not right for that to happen. It is a bit like The Hanged Man in Tarot suggesting that we may be in a limbo and perhaps it is best to wait a bit (watch and learn) instead of taking action. The Thief and the Gift could indicate missed opportunities or that an opportunity that has come up recently requires some sort of cunning or trickiness in order to carry it out successfully.  This ties in with Constancy because if our actions are being monitored then we surely must be careful how we handle things. The Gift card is a very positive card indeed and the opportunity it offers us is likely to do with a new job of some sort or something that requires duty and following certain rules (Officer) and this may also bring some great financial rewards (Money).

Feeling Like a Failure?

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

Here the central card (Loss) is the key or the main theme of this spread. The person does not feel successful and may also have suffered an actual loss of some kind (not necessarily a financial loss as there is no money card that would confirm that), which is also confirmed by the Misfortune card. The Visit card tells me that there have been a succession of losses or brief periods of unfortunate events that may have led the querent to feel that way. However, the Fortune card together with the Baby card promises a very happy ending to his misery and the start of something new (possibly something lucrative and successful).

Just Relax

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

In this combination we see a man in the Enemy card who is facing the couple in the Merriment card. These two cards in combination could represent jealousy or an actual person who may want to harm us in one way or another but it can just simply mean that we do not make enough effort to enjoy ourselves or that we can not switch off (relax) for some reason. The Visit card could tell us that this situation may arise because we feel there are other things that have to be dealt with or that we do not feel loved or appreciated enough. However, Visit can also mean that our situation (that the other two cards are 'talking about') is only temporary and will be over soon.

The Plan

Universal Fantasy Tarot, published by Lo Scarabeo (2006)

The man is making plans for his future and he is considering all his options in light of his current situation (Two of Wands) by observing what looks like some sort of map, and I usually see this map as the map of his life but of course this may well be just a plan of his current endeavour.  He has been through some difficult times and has been feeling drained mentally (Queen of Swords). With her flowing blue dress and her face slightly covered up to hide her emotions; this queen perfectly represents the sometimes harsh mental processes that can occupy one's mind as well as a harsh environment that saturates one's mind with an excess of negativity or stress. The Four of Wands promises a much needed rest or even celebration that will hopefully end or at least suspend his current state of stress and worry.

New Beginning

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

There is some sort of negativity that surrounds the situation and the person is advised to pause and reflect upon it before progressing with whatever they are planning to do. They need to act quickly as things seem to be moving forward very fast and they can expect some good news to come through or this could even be a small financial reward. Either way things are moving forward very fast and the person is advised not to rush into something that they have not thought through. The Baby can represent many things but I think in this case it represents the beginning of something new and I think that things are steadily moving towards the positive side as the messenger in the middle card is facing away from the Enemy and turning toward the Baby who is also facing the messenger.

Preparing for Better Days

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

The Widow is at the centre of this spread facing Hope and turning away from Merriment. This could be about an actual person who has seen better days in her (or his) life and now they are waiting or literally hoping for better days to come through. Hope here can indicate all sorts of things including investing your energy into something enjoyable, travelling (overseas) as well as preparing psychologically for a change in your life style. The advice that one could give in this case is that the person should look on the positive side of things and they should try to be more optimistic about the future even if they have been through rough times. However, in order to get there one must do something about it and so Merriment could actually be the answer to the problem; so instead of turning away from it, the person should embrace and celebrate his or her past because they probably had a good time and whatever brought them those happy times should be sought in the present.

Make-Believe

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

Falseness and Marriage indicate that a relationship or friendship may not be what it seems or it may be unpredictable. A sudden change or a realisation of the truth in a matter (Misfortune) may have brought about some doubts the person may be having about a relationship. However, this combination could also work the other way around, in that a relationship can create unpredictable circumstances that can bring about a sudden change or the realisation of the truth about the matter (in question). Also, this relationship may be more challenging than the person thought or it may teach the person important life lessons. I think this reading could also be about trust and how much we believe in what we see, moreover this can also be applied to situations that are not as bad as they look. But whatever the case may be I think all themes mentioned above refer to or originate from matters within a relationship.

Intrusion

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

Possible meanings of this combination include: being too harsh or critical with a friend, people turning against each other, it could also indicate friends who are scheming. In very abstract terms this combination is about giving up on something or changing our minds about something that we thought positively about in the first place. However, both the Judge and the Enemy are intrusively looking towards the centre where the dog lies as if they are planning to do harm to it or criticise it.

Change on the Horizon

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

An important decision will have to be made (Judge) and it will result in a major change (Misfortune), however we trust in our decision and we feel that things will work out well in the end (Hope), even though it may take a while to build up a stable foundation. The major theme in this combination is change (Misfortune) which is similar to The Tower card in Tarot; so this means that we have to break down something in order to build up something new, something better or more secure. The way I worked this out is based on which way the characters (in the two cards) are facing: the judge is looking at the lady in the Hope card and she is throwing the roses towards the flames; she does that because she knows that those roses will burn but something else will spring up to replace the old or outdated ways of her being.

Just Do It

The Druid Craft Tarot by Carr-Gomm, Worthington, published by Connections (2004)
This reading is about my dilemma and possibly even the fact that I am procrastinating. I am faced with two forces that are pulling me apart. On the one hand I am comfortable and content in my life, on the other hand I would like to grow professionally and do more and I know I am capable of doing that but I am also being lazy and always avoid acting on what I know I should be doing. The Nine of Pentacles and the Three of Wands were reversed which indicates that although I have all the material things that I may need I am not satisfied because I am not doing enough to realise my dreams. Well, needless to mention what I need to do to counteract this :)

Moving On From Difficult Times

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary
As I look at this combination I get a feeling of deep sadness and the need to move on. I feel that the person has been through a lot and he or she has been very sensitive (emotionally) about it possibly even withdrawn from socialising. Whatever happened to the person he or she has been deeply affected and could certainly benefit from some guidance from family and friends. However, things are looking positive as the Journey card brings some energy and movement into the situation that will help this person to move on from these difficult times.

Sense of Duty

Gypsy Fortunetelling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary
The central card is the Officer which can refer to a person but I will be focusing more on the abstract meanings of this card which include office environment, our job, work, a sense of duty. Constancy suggests that something may take a long time to complete or that things are not changing much at the moment. On a deeper level it can also refer to the all-seeing eyes of God or whatever deity one believes in. The House usually refers to the home we grew up in or anything that is connected to our home or the house we live in. However, with the Officer standing in the middle I get this feeling that it all refers to our place of work and that someone is watching or monitoring our work (e.g. supervisor, manager etc.). Alternatively it can mean that our work maybe important or urgent and/or it may also take a while to complete.

Daily Oraculum

Gypsy Fortunetelling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary
This is a very interesting combination as there are two cards that can represent a person. The first card is Sweetheart (also referred to as the Gypsy Queen) who usually represents a female seeker (a lady for whom the reading is done) or the lover of a male seeker, while the second card (Widower) can represent either the seeker's father (or an older male family member) or an older gentleman who is involved either in the seeker's life or the life of the Sweetheart. Whatever the case may be this reading is most likely about the relationship between Sweetheart and Widower. The Widower is turning away from Death and from Sweetheart too. As Death is facing Sweetheart and is also at the centre of the spread this reading is most likely about some sort of change, transformation, renewal, certainty that is to do with Sweetheart. Literally it could mean that this lady needs to accept her father's death and move on or that she is involved with an older gentleman who has been through a lot (he has experienced a lot) and who may want to withdraw from the situation (he is turning away from both cards). Another possible meaning for Widower is loneliness or being alone so this lady may have just become single or needs to be alone to reflect on her life and what changes she needs to make. Death and Widower can also represent other (abstract) concepts in which case we could say that this lady (or the male seeker's lover) is about to experience changing circumstances for which she is advised to rely on rationality (or masculine wisdom) or she may seek advice from an older gentleman. There are more possible meanings that could be drawn from this combination and these will depend on the question that the person was asking about.

Daily Oraculum

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary
This combination of cards stands for the absolute longing and yearning for whatever the person has been planning or wishing for. The Hope card also gives the impression that it may take a long time for an individual's dream to materialise. There is also a sense of sadness and possibly even depression coupled with a sense of wanting to withdraw from everyday activities in order to look within. The gentleman is holding a book which can suggest that he has made plans, studied (did his homework), intellectually prepared for his future. The lady in the blue dress is holding a red rose so she is passionate about what she wants to achieve. Finally the lady in the green dress throws two red roses towards the ship which can indicate that she has set her heart on something and she really wants to get there or do whatever she had planned in the first place, moreover each of them are facing towards the same direction.

Daily Oraculum

Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, manufactured by KVIZ, Hungary

There could be a feeling of not being successful or not seeing the whole picture about something that the person loves (doing); or a more obvious way of looking at this combination is that the person will be unsuccessful or disappointed in a relationship as it may turn out to be something different from what they expected it to be in the first place.

Daily Oraculum

These posts will simply describe theoretical readings that are used to explore levels of meaning in Tarot and Lenormand card-combinations as well as to illustrate how useful these two mediums are in giving guidance.

For this reading I used the Tarot of the Magical Forest and the Mystical Lenormand. The following cards were drawn:

1. Present Situation (cards in the middle)-Seven of Pentacles+Scythe

2. Challenges/Problems (cards to the left)-Two of Swords+Child

3. Outcome/Advice (cards to the right)-Knight of Cups (Rx)+Path

Tarot of the Magical Forest by Lo Scarabeo (2008) and Mystical Lenormand by AGM Muller (2006)

Seven of Pentacles+Scythe

At present the person is taking stock of what they have achieved so far and assessing what needs to be abandoned or let go of and what needs to be continued with. This is an interesting combination since we have the scene of a fox resting and evaluating the fruits of his labour (the seven pentacles) and on the bottom card we have what could have been his instrument (the scythe) he used to cultivate his crops so in this case the Scythe almost becomes a symbol for the means (what we use) to achieve our goals. However, the traditional meanings of the Scythe relate to something more dramatic, in particular to sudden unexpected events that can literally cut us off from our current situation. So the way I initially saw these two cards are in terms of assessment about current endeavours, however one can also say that something unexpected or dramatic in the person's life has caused them to pause and review their future plans.

Two of Swords+Child

Since an assessment has just been taking place about what needs to end or cut out from one's life, another decision will have to be made about what needs to begin. However, since this position relates to obstacles it should be interpreted in light of how these two cards can present a challenge in one's life. The Two of Sword is about indecision or a mental (or emotional) blockage (or barrier) that one has built around them in order to (perhaps) prevent them from anxiety or stress (or just from having to deal with a situation in general). The two cards together could simply be interpreted as fear of or indecision (Two of Swords) about a new start (Child); however if we want to go deeper into this combination we could say that the situation is not mature enough or ready to be handled responsibly (or the person just simply does not feel ready to tackle her problems head on). At the same time the person might be too naive (Child) and can not perceive the situation as it truly is (it may be worse than it looks or they may be hidden factors involved).

Knight of Cups (Rx)+Path

This reversed knight can bring confusion and a sense of falsity into this reading and this can result in actions that are not very well thought-out. This together with the Path can simply mean that the individual is walking down the wrong path or may have been led astray ergo he or she will make the wrong decision. Another meaning for this combination could be about delusions; that is the person is unable to focus and direct their energy towards one specific goal because they are out of touch with what is really happening around them. They may also be overly optimistic or too emotional in any matters to handle them responsibly. At the same time there may be too many options available to choose from and the person may be unable to decide which one to go for.

Summary

Key combinations:

1. Present Situation: Seven of Pentacles+Scythe= Assessment about endings (of current endeavours).

2. Challenges/Problems: Two of Swords+Child= Inability to begin or start anew (possibly due to anxiety or fear that is usually irrational).

3. Outcome/Advice: Knight of Cups (Rx)+Path= Walking down the wrong path, Being confused about which way to go, Being too optimistic about the outcome of your situation.

Natasha is moving to London

Natasha is considering moving to and taking up employment in London but she is not sure whether this is the right move for her. Unemployment rate in her country is the highest ever and she would have to use all her savings for this move. She would also be sad to leave her mother behind who is physically unwell at the moment. Natasha asked the cards:

Should I move to London and take up employment there or should I stay hoping that things will improve in the future?

1. Argument for (moving)
2. Argument against (moving)
3. Final Decision (Advice)

For this reading I used the Gilded Tarot Royale which is a breathtakingly beautiful deck from Ciro Marchetti. I combined this deck with Ciro's oracle deck the Oracle of Visions. I thought that these two decks worked really well together.

1. Argument for: Five of Wands and Memories/Legacy/Past

I felt that perhaps it was time for Natasha to move on and challenge herself on many levels. The Five of Wands promised a competitive and busy life but one where she could use what she has learned from the past and perhaps create something lasting for future generations. This oracle card really showed that she is ready to move on in a positive manner.
Gilded Tarot Royale (2012) and the Oracle of Visions (2011) by Ciro Marchetti

2. Argument against: Ace of Wands (reversed) and Assistance/Help/Support

It may be a difficult start but then again she expected that it will not be easy in a foreign country. At the beginning there may be problems with deciding what kind of work she would like to do and how to get it so she may need a lot of support or assistance.

[This oracle card shows an almost heavenly intervention or assistance. This is great news for Natasha as it seems that luck will be on her side]
Gilded Tarot Royale (2012) and the Oracle of Visions (2011) by Ciro Marchetti

3. Final Decision (Advice); Seven of Swords and Support/Strength

So it does seem that the best decision for Natasha is to leave. I think the advice from the Seven of Swords is to plan her journey carefully so as to avoid making mistakes. She may have to carry a lot of weight on her shoulders and just persevere no matter what but she may also rely on her inner strength.
Gilded Tarot Royale (2012) and the Oracle of Visions (2011) by Ciro Marchetti

Summary

It seems like Natasha is ready to move on with her life. This is great news for her as she can finally step out of her comfort zone, challenge herself and use all her skills and knowledge she learned from the past. Although it may be a difficult start for her especially at the beginning when she has to decide what she wants to do and how can she get to it. This may require some extra support or assistance which she will likely get. She is advised to plan ahead and formulate a clear strategy for her future in order to succeed. For this she will need to exercise a great deal of inner strength.

Moving House

I have not been active recently because I am moving house and we (me and my partner) have so much stuff to pack and unpack that I can not imagine that this will be done for a while (at least not for a few weeks). Anyway, it is interesting to note that just before we knew whether we can move for certain I did a 6-card Tarot and Lenormand spread. Unfortunately, I can not upload scans of the cards because the printer is in a box with 400+ decks and books (in 20 other boxes) :) but the last 2 cards that came up were Death and Bouquet. I thought it was very appropriate for our situation especially because I have to get rid off some things that I have not used for a long time and moving house is all about change and transformation. You change your surroundings and your environment and this time I know for sure that this change is the most positive I have had for a very long time. The Bouquet card will bring much needed harmony and happiness in our day-to-day life and this I am certain about. Well, I wish you all the best in life especially if you are going through a change or planning on changing certain aspects of your life.

I should post this on my Music and Symbols page but because I can not post anything else at the moment I will post it here for now; so here is a great song from the beautiful Wolf Kati. She is singing about Tomorrow. She is singing that Tomorrow is waiting for you! Tomorrow will bring you change! It will be a new day, a new chaper in your life. So let things be different! :)

Reading for Olivia

Below is the actual write-up for a reading I have done recently. As usual (for reasons of confidentiality) I am not using the real name of the person in the post title:

Six-card Tarot and Lenormand Reading

Introduction

This spread combines three cards from the Tarot deck and three cards from the Lenormand oracle deck. The combination of these two mediums can add more depth to the analysis and to answer the question that was asked. For this reading, you wanted to know about your relationship and so I asked the cards the following question: What do I need to know about my relationship? I shuffled and cut both decks whilst focusing on you and your question. The following cards were drawn: 1.Page of Pentacles + Scythe, 2.The Fool + Heart, 3.Temperance + Sun. The three pairs of cards were interpreted together and each pair corresponded to a specific position within the whole spread.

Analysis

Position 1: YOU (Page of Pentacles + Scythe)
This position is about you. It will tell you about where you stand in this relationship and how you see yourself in this relationship. The first card to interpret is the Page of Pentacles. This card shows a young girl who is holding a pentacle or coin in her hand. This card immediately tells me that perhaps you see yourself as this young girl who is holding onto this relationship because you feel that you may still have things to learn or things to take away from this relationship. This card is the card of a good student who is curious and wants to experience the world with all her senses. The Suit of Pentacles in Tarot is associated with the element of earth and so it is related to the body, the sense and the physical world. This girl is in deep concentration almost to the point of being entranced by the pentacle she is holding. I think this pentacle represents your relationship. You seem to be holding on to this relationship because you are curious about what is going to happen or where this may lead to. On the other hand the second card may tell you that you have been holding onto this relationship for a long time now and it is time to make a decision. Scythe is a card that tells you that perhaps now is the time to reap what you saw and to take stock of the past. How this relationship benefited you or what you got out of it? How you feel about this relationship? This card advises you that you need to make your choice and you need to reach a verdict. This card may ask you to prepare yourself for a bit of judgement and accept the consequences of your actions. So the Scythe involves a quick decision making or evaluation process that may end with a necessary painful period of time.  I am of course not suggesting that you should break up; rather the cards indicate that it is time to think about where or how this relationship has worked for you so far and whether you want to take it further.

Page of Pentacles by Robin Wood (1991) and Scythe from Lenormand Wahrsagekarten by Konigsfurt-Urania (2005)

Position 2: HIM (The Fool + Heart)
It is considered unethical to read about another person without his or her consent; so I will try to read this position in terms of your situation that is related to him as opposed to him as a person within the relationship. Instead of interpreting the two cards separately I am going to read them together because I think it works best when they are read together. The Fool and Heart combined could mean a romance that is sweet and may be lasting but it may be more experimental than serious. By this I mean that both parties involved are seeking fulfilment and new experiences but there is a certain feeling of airiness and a lack of grounding or solidity. This may not necessarily be a bad thing especially if both parties are enjoying the ride and it mutually satisfies them. The Fool is a card that is associated with the element of air. It has not manifested itself as the solid earth; however it does carry within it the potential to do so. As such it is the embodiment of potential or possibility in every situation. In your case it is the situation of the matters of the heart. Heart is the card of love, romances, wish fulfilment.

The Fool by Robin Wood (1991) and Heart from Lenormand Wahrsagekarten by Konigsfurt-Urania (2005)

Position 3: THE RELATIONSHIP (Temperance + Sun)
These final two cards are about your relationship in general and they should indicate where things are heading. It may be frustrating (or obvious) to find out that the last Tarot card (Temperance) for you is the card of balance, patience and compromise. This card advises you to find equilibrium within your relationship by carefully blending all the factors into a harmonious mixture. This may involve slowing down a bit, wisely managing the situation so that both parties can get along well. There is the possibility that either one or both of you need to make compromises in order to reach success within your relationship. This card can also refer to people in a mixed marriage. Either way you need to restore balance if you want this relationship to succeed (Sun just simply refers to success). So to sum up: you need to be patience, find balance or make necessary adjustments in order to make this relationship a success.

Temperance by Robin Wood (1991) and Sun from Lenormand Wahrsagekarten by Konigsfurt-Urania (2005)

Conclusion

You need to think about what you have learned and what you can learn from this relationship as well as how you feel about it. The best way forward is to perhaps take stock of the past and then make sudden changes accordingly. You may have been enjoying each other’s company for a long time now but are you ready or do you want to solidify this relationship?  Compromises may need to be made in order to find balance and to get the most out of this relationship but there is a potential for success and it is up to you to get there.

Reading for Jack

CBD Tarot of Marseille by Yoav Ben-Dov (2010) and Lenormand Orakelkarten by Konigsfurt (2007)

This reading was done for Jack who just simply wanted to know what he should focus on in his life at the moment.

The King of Wands as well as the Ship indicates that he is an ambitious man who is ready to move forward although he may also be a bit of a dreamer who likes to keep his feet off the ground (Ship). The Ship here may also indicate a dream that he may want to pursue with all his passion.

He is an emotionally mature person (King of Cups) who also has a good heart and perhaps a family or some sort of emotional support (Heart) that he can count on.

However, something dark may be developing and he may soon have to confront his doubts and fears (The Moon). These fears or this dark energy may originate from some sort of repetitive debate or argument between him and another person that has not yet been resolved (Whip). From a psychoanalytical point of view these two cards could also be interpreted as repressed, conflicting forces trying to resurface.

My advice for him was to try to pay attention to his dreams as these may give some clues. He should also try to resolve whatever conflicts there may be in his life even if they seem to be minor or unimportant as these may develop into something more disturbing. He should cherish his loved ones as they provide emotional support. He should also try to pursue his dreams but he should keep his feet firmly on the ground.

Daily Reflections

I decided to start posting some of my daily reflections using a slightly different spread than I normally use. This spread is also a combination of Tarot and Lenormand but instead of three plus three cards I use four pairs of cards (four cards from each deck) and I also divide the spread into four sections: top Tarot pair, top Lenormand pair, bottom Tarot pair, bottom Lenormand pair. The top row is the conscious or what is obvious (what is on my mind) while the bottom row is the unconscious or subconscious or what I do not see clearly (things that bubble up from my psyche but may be repressed after all). Each top and bottom pair can also be read as a combination.

I am not sure if I am going to use the same two decks for all my Daily Reflections posts (probably not) but I started with the Tarot of Reflections which is one of my favourite decks (the deck you see on the picture is a trimmed version). I really love each card because they just simply speak volumes. This deck for me just feels so 'organic'; in a sense that just by looking at the cards they start 'talking' to me in a way that few other decks do. For the Lenormand deck I will use the beautiful Melissa Lenormand (second ed.); since I received it a few days ago I can not put it down.

Tarot of Reflections by Lo Scarabeo (2005) and Melissa Lenormand (2nd ed.) by Melissa Hill (2012)
Top Row:

I feel like today I am very much in a thinking state instead of a doing state (Knight of Swords on the left, Queen of Swords on the right). So I am a bit overwhelmed with thoughts almost to the point of being worried. I also feel like I do not really want to do anything serious (Child) maybe just relaxing and enjoying the day (Bouquet). [Well I was off from work today and I was not doing anything serious all day although I was doing a lot of thinking.]

Bottom Row:

Decisions need to be made about certain things (Three of Wands) and I am a bit worried about finances as well because I have already spent more money this year than I should have (Ace of Coins reversed). I am just hoping that Luck will find its way to me (Clover) although I may be relying too much on Luck at the moment. I am just thinking that things will always work out by themselves (Path). In other words, I believe that I will always find the right path. So far I have not had major setbacks in life but I have not moved forward much either which is something I want to change this year.

Summary

Top Row:

Knight of Swords + Queen of Swords = Passive thinking or too much thinking without acting on my thoughts.

Child + Bouquet = Not feeling serious, play-time, (or waste of time).

Bottom Row

Three of Wands + Ace of Coins (reversed) = Waiting on things to happen or reflecting on things that have already happened especially financial matters.

Clover + Path = Hoping for the best, relying too much on destiny or fate, going with the flow instead of actively changing course. These meanings are in terms of daily reflections. If these two cards came up in a spread for a specific question that is more goal oriented I would say that the person will make the right choice regarding the issue and things will work out fine. However, with negative cards nearby I would say that he or she may make some risky decisions.

A Reading on Blogging

Magisches Lenormand by Sandy Pfutsch and Gabriele Buettner (2011) and The Hezicos Tarot by Mary Griffin (2010)

First Impressions:
The first two cards that came up were The Tower and The Book. The first thing I immediately asked myself was: What secrets are about to be revealed? These two cards make me feel a bit excited and a bit scared at the same time. The second pair of cards were The Magician and The Lady. This Lady is looking at The Tower and The Book while The Magician is staring at me like he is trying grab my attention. The last two pair of cards were very cute. They suggested that I should take some time out and start something new or they just simply saying to me: 'Take it easy!'

I was thinking a bit about what these cards could mean for me and I came up with a concise and satisfying answer. I think this reading is about my blog and about the fact that I really want to kick-start it and post on a regular basis. Well here is my interpretation of this reading:

I think The Book is telling me that soon I will be able to open up or reveal my blog to a wider audience and The Tower may symbolize this explosion (So please do comment on my posts :) Although The Book may also be telling me that I may yet to learn a few bits and pieces before it all kick-starts. The Magician advises me to use all my resources and skills to make the most out of my blogging experience. This Lady may be someone I know, a friend who may help me in some way or point me to the right direction or it could represent TABI (Tarot Association of the British Isles). Finally the Four of Swords may be telling me that I should spend more time alone to begin my blogging adventure (The Child) which will start out as something small.

Well I am now very excited about this reading and whether the actual outcome will be what I described above. I think I shall soon find out :)

Love is in the Air

Rider-Waite Tarot deck Centennial Edition by U.S. Games Systems (2009), Pixie's Astounding Mlle Lenormand Cards by Edmund Zebrowski (2010)
I have not used the good old Rider Waite deck for quite some time, so I thought I might as well dig it out from my collection and do a 6-card Tarot and Lenormand reading. I love to combine Tarot decks with 'matching' Lenormand decks so I used Pixie's Astounding Lenormand deck. This reading was done for Olivia who has just met a gentleman named Mike. She just simply wanted to know about the prospects of this encounter becoming something more serious or long-lasting. The first pair (from left) of cards was about Olivia, the second pair stood for Mike while the third pair represented their encounter (with its hopes and fears). So the the last two cards held the answer to her question although the first and second pairs were also important.

1. Olivia

She feels very strongly about this encounter almost to the point of being overwhelmed (10 of Wands). She seems to be doing a lot of things at the moment but she is very comfortable in her environment  and seems to be in a very good place (The Fish). She feels emotionally secure although I wonder whether she may feel a bit under pressure from Mike or just simply busy with things in general? Either way The Fish can assure her that she is doing just fine.

2. Mike

Mike is young (Page of Pentacles) and possibly quite settled, enjoying a comfortable life style. He may be a bit inexperienced (Page of Pentacles) but he likes to create, to experience the senses. He seems to have found his place in the world (The Anchor). I would say he may be a young entrepreneur or businessman who is already quite well-established. However, Olivia might want to make sure that he is not already committed to someone else or something else (as in being a workaholic).

3. The Encounter

Although there were no particular cards in this position that would highlight true love or a 'perfect' relationship, however the cards indicate that this relationship will upgrade to a higher, more mature stage (Knight of Pentacles) and may last for quite some time. However, for Olivia and Mike it will take some time and patience to get there. Nevertheless, at least it seems that this will be a sexually fulfilling romance with honesty and trust (The Lily), which is a very important first step towards an ideal partnership.

Summary:

Overall, there is a lot of heaviness and earthiness in this spread. Olivia seems to be a busy lady with a lot on her plate although she seems to be enjoying her busy life-style. She seems to be secure and happy with her current life. Mike also seems to be quite stable although may be a bit too young or inexperienced. However, the questions that Olivia needs to ask herself is : Is Mike already committed to someone else? From the last two cards it seems that it will become a sexually fulfilling relationship for both of them although I wonder whether all this earthiness would eventually dry out and become boring.

Please Note: I did not use the real name of the lady for whom this reading was intended to and she gave consent to posting her reading.
